Tom Cathro started his business, Cathro Air Compressor Services, back in 1987 - after being made redundant on his birthday. Working in the local area, he single-handedly provided services to large industrial manufacturing companies, such as Royal Doulton and Johnson Matthey. He often recalls stripping and overhauling up to 50 piston compressors over the Potters fortnight holiday.
In 1999, his son Peter Cathro joined the company and completed an apprenticeship at the local college.
In 2002, Cathro Air Compressor Services became a limited company, now trading as Cathro Compressors Ltd.
In 2011, Cathro Compressors Ltd secured an international order; supplying and installing a new air compressor/dryer package with pipe work in Modrice, Brno, Czech Republic.
In 2013, Peter Cathro became a Director, and later on that year, redesigned the website.
In 2015 Peter decided to expand our workforce with the addition of a trainee service engineer.
In 2018 we expanded our workforce with the addition of another trainee service engineer.
In 2022 we expanded our workforce with the addition of another trainee service engineer.
